A few steps from the beach on Bainbridge Island, Washington, this new modern home on an old foundation has 3100 square feet of living space, plus his/hers art studios adjacent to and above the detached garage. Taught lines are combined with rugged, sustainable materials, including triple-glazed windows, heated concrete floors, reclaimed wood stairs, and counters of concrete and recycled glass.
